Creative Rewilding

a personal journey through the arts

Since ancient times, the arts have been a tool of reconnection. The self or soul awakens through dancing, painting, singing and writing.

We merge with the Divine through the arts and remember our creative gifts.

However, in our society, art often becomes distorted by the craving for success and control. We forget the intrinsic gift that lies before all of man’s constructs and believe the big lie. Through our societal perspective, some people are creative and artists, while others are not. This belief is probably one of the most limiting and damaging in our world. But we are healing it.

I remember studying fine arts at the university for many years. I learnt many artistic and creative skills, but never heard of the true power of creativity. When I finished my studies, I thought I would never paint again. I honestly didn’t see the point or real purpose behind my work and desire to paint or create. Within my creative or uncreative walk at the university, I forgot why I loved making art in the first place.

When I was little, the arts saved my life. I grew up in a very destructive environment, and the arts were the tools I had to express myself and see my innate creative gifts. The child within found great relief in singing in a house where she couldn’t speak much. Dancing offered her the freedom of movement and embodiment she needed when she wanted to escape this world. Painting and drawing helped her connect with her imagination and create, from scratch, a new life. Writing offered her the chance to express all her emotions on paper through a diary and release any fear about her surroundings.

The arts have been and still are my greatest medicine to this day.

While travelling and exploring further studies, I have encountered many beautiful and inspiring souls, and I soon discovered the magic of the creative process. Over the years, it has helped me to overcome almost everything.

After healing my own wounds around the process of art making and creative expression, I became interested in supporting others along this journey. I could see very easily what limiting beliefs and false stories blocked their creative gifts from flourishing.

I believe that the arts offer us a mirror to the creative potential of our spirit. When we empower ourselves through the arts and master our ability to access them with freedom, we can tap into the many gifts of our souls. We all possess creative gifts, and in my opinion, we are meant to use them to create life in all its forms. We are that powerful.

The Intuitive Arts are often considered a path to our creative spirit. This holistic approach to the arts and the creative process invites us to create intuitively from our soul and express our whole being through the art-making process. We remember that creativity flows through our divine and human veins, and we are no longer afraid to access all its forms and gifts.

I will share more about the gifts of intuitive art and some of its practices within the following article.
